Problem:
9.5 Installation needs to be restarted.
Cause:
Here are just a few examples of potential causes:
- SQL connectivity issues
- Microsoft Alternate Data Streams
- Install done via Remote Desktop without the admin switch [(start > run > "mstsc /admin") this creates a console session as opposed to a terminal session]
Solution:
***NOTE***
Always make sure you have a backup before performing actions on a production Core.
Example:
-C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\Shared Files\Keys
-Database
Option 1:
- Rename the following files:
- C:\ProgramData\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\Install\9.50\setup.xml
- C:\ProgramData\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\Install\9.50\setup.xml.bak
Option 2:(this encompasses option 1)
- uninstallwinclient.exe /noreboot
- Add\Remove programs: Remove any LANDesk entries
- Delete Folders: C:\Programdata\LANDesk\ -C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk -InstallDrive:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk
- Remove from registry:
- HKLM\software\LANDesk
- HKLM\software\wow6432node\landesk
- HKLM\software\wow6432node\intel\landesk
- Remove the IIS Role
- Reboot
Option 3:(Least likely to see other issues)
- Start with a clean OS (revert snapshot or reload OS)
